DESCRIPTION: All of the Shona sculptures are one of a kind pieces because each one is hand carved. The artist lets the stone tell him/her what should be carved and how the carving should flow. The artists also believe that their sculptures already have an owner it belongs to and the sculpture will find its way to its owner. It is my understanding that many years ago these sculptures could be found in abundance and easily acquired. However, now the government has limited the amount of sculptures and pricing of this art leaving the country.
